I am a 7th generation dairy farmer. Eight years ago we made the decision to move from our 60 cow stanchion barn to a state of the art 280 cow robotic barn. Five years later we were told by SCR/Lely that we would need to buy all new responders for our cows because they would no longer be making replacement tags. Naturally, the replacement tags were at our expense (they always screw the farmer, my dad loves to say). Our current tags were in great working order and some of them were still under warranty. We decided to keep rolling with what we had until we couldn't anymore.
We bought every used tag we could find and even started to replace the batteries ourselves (which is not a fun process). We were barely keeping up replacing dead tags with working ones. It was only a matter of time before we ran out of tags altogether. I knew there had to be a way to make tags compatible with our current SCR tags and the antennas we have on our robots. This is when I partnered with Comparator. Comparator made exactly what I was looking for. I have had such success with them, I am bringing their tags to the United States as the first US dealer.
Not only will I be offering the IR tag, which I use, I will also have the LD tag for updated systems. The LD tag makes it possible to upgrade your system without the ridiculous prices other companies charge. They will also work seamlessly as replacement tags of other LD tags.
